Ramadan 2027 shopping: expected dates, sales and Eid cut-offs

ماWritten by Mariam Alhammadi · updated

Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin around Monday 8 February 2027 on the Umm al-Qura calendar, with Eid al-Fitr around 9 or 10 March 2027. Final dates depend on moon sighting in each country. In Saudi Arabia, the licensed Ramadan sale season in the past two years started one to two weeks before Ramadan and ran past Eid. Saudi Founding Day (22 February) and Kuwait's National and Liberation Days (25-26 February) fall inside the expected Ramadan 2027.

Expected Ramadan and Eid dates for 2027

According to the Umm al-Qura calendar, 1 Ramadan 1448 AH falls on Monday 8 February 2027. The calendar notes that religious dates are calculated astronomically and may differ by a day depending on moon sighting in some countries. A Hijri month has 29 or 30 days, so Eid al-Fitr is expected on Tuesday 9 March or Wednesday 10 March 2027.

These dates are expected, not official. In the UAE, for example, the moon-sighting committee under the UAE Council for Fatwa makes the official announcement, per the UAE government portal. Each Gulf state has its own body that announces the sighting, so plan for the start moving by a day either way.

How Ramadan sales ran in 2025 and 2026

Saudi Arabia: a season licensed by the Ministry of Commerce. Each year the ministry announces an official Ramadan and Eid sale season covering shops and online stores:

SeasonStartEndLicences and products
Ramadan 1446 (2025)10 Sha'ban, 9 Feb 20255 Shawwal, 3 Apr 2025Over 2,000 licences covering over 1 million products as of the announcement (ministry)
Ramadan 1447 (2026)13 Sha'ban, 1 Feb 20267 Shawwal, 26 Mar 20261,987 licences covering over 5 million products (ministry)

The ministry set the 2026 season at 54 days and said the aim was to encourage early shopping and avoid the last-minute rush (2026 announcement). Main categories included food and household goods, electrical and electronic appliances, perfume and cosmetics, and clothing. If the pattern repeats for 1448, the season could open around mid-Sha'ban, in the second half of January 2027. That is our estimate; the ministry hasn't announced it.

Amazon: the 2026 Amazon.ae Ramadan Sale page describes the event as held before Ramadan, with early access for Prime members, and the Amazon.sa page is similar. The Eid Sale page says it starts before Eid, also with Prime early access. We didn't find exact 2026 dates on Amazon's official pages.

Bank offers: a Ramadan 2026 example is Namshi with Alinma cards, 10 to 28 February 2026: 25% off up to SAR 150, minimum SAR 200, one order per card.

noon: we couldn't confirm official dates for noon's 2025 or 2026 Ramadan sales from an official page.

Saudi Founding Day and Kuwait's national days inside Ramadan

In 2027, two national occasions that usually bring offers overlap with Ramadan:

  • Saudi Founding Day, 22 February: a royal order in January 2022 made 22 February each year the commemoration of the Saudi state's founding and an official holiday. In 2026 it fell on 5 Ramadan 1447, and the Ministry of Human Resources declared it a holiday for the private and non-profit sectors. So the overlap has happened before. In 2027 it falls around mid-month.
  • Kuwait National and Liberation Days, 25-26 February: in 2026 the Civil Service Commission declared 25 and 26 February official holidays for government bodies. In 2027 they fall on Thursday and Friday, around 18-19 Ramadan. The 2027 holiday hasn't been announced yet.

What this means for shoppers: stores may run Founding Day or Kuwait national day offers alongside Ramadan offers. In Saudi Arabia, any advertised sale needs a licence you can check by scanning its barcode, under the Ministry of Commerce rules. Also remember that official holidays can slow some deliveries. For the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, we found no official national day inside the expected Ramadan 1448.

Ramadan working hours and delivery timing around iftar

Working hours shrink in Ramadan, which affects customer service, warehouses and some couriers:

CountryRamadan working hoursSource
UAEPrivate-sector hours cut by two hours a day (Ramadan 2025 and 2026)MOHRE
Saudi ArabiaMuslim workers capped at 6 hours a day or 36 a week (Labour Law, Article 98)HRSD

BahrainNot confirmed-
OmanNot confirmed-

Delivery around iftar: we found no official page from noon, talabat or Amazon setting iftar-specific delivery windows. noon does confirm that delivery fees and options (same day, next day) depend on your city and order time, show at checkout, and that same-day and next-day delivery aren't available everywhere. Our practical advice: order iftar needs early in the day rather than counting on a quick order just before the call to prayer, and check the estimated delivery time at checkout before confirming.

Eid order cut-offs: when to order so it arrives in time

Major stores haven't announced Eid al-Fitr 2027 order cut-offs, and we found no official pages with specific cut-offs for past years. Some documented facts still help with planning:

  • In the UAE, the 2026 Eid al-Fitr private-sector holiday ran from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 March 2026, extending to Sunday 22 March if Ramadan ran 30 days, per MOHRE. So the break starts the day before Eid. The government portal says that if Ramadan runs 30 days, day 30 counts as an Eid holiday.
  • In Saudi Arabia, the licensed sale season ran to 5 Shawwal in 2025 and 7 Shawwal in 2026, so offers don't stop on Eid eve.
  • For Amazon qualified promotions, the same delivery speed is required for all included items, so choosing faster delivery for one item can drop the offer.

Rule of thumb: buy Eid clothes and gifts in the first half of Ramadan, before about 22 February 2027 if the month starts on 8 February, especially international or global-shipping orders. Keep the last days for fast local orders only, after checking the estimated delivery at checkout. Remember that cashback lands after delivery, so credit from late-Ramadan orders may only arrive after Eid.

Codes and bank offers in Ramadan: what to watch

  • Bank offers are limited: often one order per card, with a cap and a minimum, no stacking with codes, and no Apple Pay or wallets, as in Namshi's Alinma offer and noon's bank partnerships. Plan your biggest order to be the one that uses the bank offer.
  • Cashback comes later: noon coupon cashback lands within a few days of delivery, so don't count it in your Eid budget if delivery is close to Eid.
  • Scams rise: the Saudi banks' committee warned about people impersonating charities and asking for fees through links, a pattern that returns with Ramadan giving. Don't use vouchers or codes that reach you through links in messages.
